A renown Chinese Bigfoot investigator has died while searching for ''Bigfoot'' in a remote area of northern China, the official Xinhua News Agency said Friday.
Yu Gong's death in a traffic accident was the most recent in a series of setbacks for Chinese researchers hoping to prove that the legendary creature exists, Xinhua said. No further details were available.
A highly publicized hunt for Bigfoot last spring turned up no important findings, it said. A subsequent plan to launch big balloons carrying infrared cameras to search for the legendary wild creature failed, the agency quoted team leader Wang Fangchen as saying.
Wang said a secret exploration carried out early this month, however, had obtained valuable clues, although he did not elaborate. Secret documents containing that information was not available.
