Colorado County, Texas Nearest city would be Weimar I H 10 A second hand account told during the 1970’s… I am describing a second hand account of a sighting of a creature called the “varmint” that had been seen by hunters during the 70's. The creature allegedly was a hair-covered human that roamed the cedar and pin oak area between Columbus and Weimar, Texas. A group of deer hunters came into a country tavern quite shaken after seeing the varmint and related their story to the owner. Local farmers had also seen the thing but usually remained tight lipped about it. The area is wooded with pastures and fields, mostly live oak, pin oak and cedar.
