Valley, New Jersey -1939 Vestigia Newsletter June 1977 In Fall of 1939 the son of one of the hunters in a hunting party told story of Saturday night coon hunt in which something killed several hounds and actually threw a man who got close to it. The man is still in an institution. Hunters saw a huge hairy manlike creature run away upright into deeper swamps. Scene described as swampy bottomlands around the Rockaway River. B.
